There’s a lot of skin tag removal products out there. Trying to figure out which ones are good can be a lot of work. I’ve removed that hassle for you and made this list of 7 treatments that you can easily buy over-the-counter. Check them out and give them a try if you’re trying to get rid of those skin tags with as little hassle as possible.
7 Over-the-Counter Products to Remove Skin Tags:
Amoils H-Skin Tags Formula
The H-Skin Tags formula from Amoils is a safe, 100% natural solution. It doesn’t cause any scarring and is safe to use in more sensitive areas. It’s also safe to use on the neck and face. However, take caution not to use it too close to the eye. H-Skin tags doesn’t cause pain when used; which is very much welcomed considering how painful some remedies and products can be.
You can use cotton swabs to apply; allowing you to skin the hassle of you having to wash your hands afterwards. Add a few drops on a clean cotton swab and apply it directly on the skin tag. Be sure to rub the formula around the base of the skin tag.
If you don’t mind having to wash your hands after application, then using just your fingers is best. Add a few drops on to your finger tips and gently massage the formula on the skin tag. I actually prefer to use my fingers. I feel like I am able to really massage the oil into the treatment area. It could just be me, but it seems like this makes it work much better for me.
This formula isn’t recommended for children under the age of 4, so take caution not to use it on young kids. For kids this young, it’s best to just leave the skin tags on (since they really are harmless), or talk to your doctor first. You’ll also want to avoid the Amoils H-Skin Tags formula if you’re pregnant, or breastfeeding.
After you start treatment with H-Skin Tags, give it about two weeks to start seeing some results. You’ll want to keep an eye for change in color, size and appearance.
TagBand Skin Tag Removal Device
TagBand is a nifty home skin tag removal products designed to simplify the good old floss remedy. It’s designed to only do one thing; cut off blood supply to the skin tag using a tight rubber band.
You might be thinking you can just use floss. The truth is, you can just use floss. But this device is designed to make the process much easier to tie down the skin tag. You don’t have to ask someone to help out and you don’t have to struggle trying to tie the floss yourself. It just takes out a bit of the frustration involved with trying to tie a tiny skin tag. For me, it’s well worth it to pay a little bit for the convenience; I always welcome less stress (I already have enough of that as it is).
There’s no pain with the treatment and you don’t have to worry about putting on any chemicals, or essential oils. The worst you’ll probably feel is some pressure on the skin tag. You also don’t have to buy any extra treatment like cotton swabs, Band-Aids, etc. That’s a big plus because they can add up.
Individual results vary from person to person, but the typical time it takes to see results is in about 1-2 weeks. Some users have reported a time frame as short as 4-5 days, but you’ll want to give it a little more time than that.
The micro TagBand is the same product as the regular TagBand mentioned above. There’s only one difference between the two. The micro version was designed for smaller skin tags and the regular version was made for larger skin tags.
The product itself doesn’t specify an exact measurement for what is considered a small to medium skin tag and what is a large skin tag. If you’re unsure about your skin tag’s size, it may be best to try the micro version.
Use your judgement and determine if your skin tag(s) is big, medium, or small. Otherwise, you can always ask for a second opinion about the size. Try a close friend, or family member.
Don’t feel like trying some rubber band device and don’t like the idea of using a mixture of essential oils? Why not try a Skinprov? Don’t worry, it’s not full of harmful chemicals. It’s actually all natural.
It’s been claimed to have showed results in as little as just 8 hours. I’m a little skeptical about this claim though. That’s probably because I haven’t witnessed this myself and 8 hours is a little too good to be true in my book. BUT you don’t have much to lose here. Skinprov is backed by a generous 60-day money back guarantee. So if you want something different, it’s well worth a try since you won’t lose out should it not work for you.
Application is also easy because you don’t need to buy any extra items (like cotton swabs, or eye droppers). Just rub a little bit of the cream into the skin tag at least once every 24 hours. If you’re dealing with a really large or stubborn skin tag, then you’ll want to apply it a few times a day. Continue applying the cream until a scab forms over the skin tag.
Now I know I did mention about an 8-hour claim, but you’ll have to be a little more realistic with your expectations. I would give it at least one to two weeks before I expect to see results. Give it a chance to work because sometimes if you rush it, you might end up throwing away the one solution that would have worked had you given it a little bit of time.
Radha Tea Tree Oil
Ok, so this isn’t exactly a product specifically targeting skin tags. However, tea tree oil works really well on skin tags, so I just couldn’t leave it out of the list.
While you can definitely pick up tea tree oil locally from your supermarket, pharmacy, etc. nearby, you take a little bit of risk doing so. What kind of risk? Well you might not be buying pure, therapeutic grade tea tree oil. A lot of the cheap stuff you find both online and offline are diluted with cheap carrier oils—which greatly degrades its potency.
I once made the mistake of buying tea tree oil from a local grocery store. That was because I didn’t know where to buy these removal products at the time. The tea tree oil was probably just five dollars cheaper than the so called “pure therapeutic” stuff online. I brought it home, tried it for a bit and didn’t see any results. I ended up throwing it away and ordered some from the internet instead. If you’re thinking of trying tea tree oil, then make sure you spend those extra dollars for the good stuff. Buy removal products like tea tree oil online if you can’t find it locally.
I’ve already discussed how to get rid of skin tags using tea tree oil in detail, so I won’t go over it again here. Use the link to read about it in detail on my other page.
Skintaway’s skin tag removal formula uses a mixture of tea tree oil, oregano oil, castor oil, and coconut oil. Both tea tree oil and oregano oil are popular, yet effective remedies for skin tags. They’re both also possess powerful anti-microbial properties.
The castor oil in the formula help get the tea tree oil and oregano oil absorbed faster; meaning they’ll start to work faster. The coconut oil provides protection and helps reduce the risk of chemical burns from the essential oils.
Application is super simple. Just apply 1-2 drops to the skin tag(s) three times a day. You can use either your fingers to massage in the solution, or you can use cotton swabs.
Just like the other products, give it at around two weeks to see results. Don’t get impatient and don’t skip applications.
aVo Skin Tag Removal
aVo skin tag removal also combines the power of tea tree oil and oregano oil into one powerful formula. However, unlike Skintaway, aVo doesn’t complicate things. They kept their formula simple by excluding all the other stuff; there’s only pure tea tree oil and oregano oil in the formula.
They didn’t cut out other ingredients to cut back on costs. By keeping the formula simple, it actually increases the overall effectiveness of the formula. When you add in too many other ingredients, it will dilute the active ingredients. Using just the two of them, the potency of the tea tree oil and oregano oil is maintained.
Applying aVo is as easy as the other natural solutions listed here. Just add a few drops on the skin tag and rub it into the skin tag (especially at the base of the skin tag). Continue to apply it for about two weeks. Give it a little more time if you’re seeing results, but it’s not quite there yet. Results vary from person to person, so it might take just a tiny bit longer for you.
I’m a big fan of home remedies, but sometimes there are products out there that just makes things way easier. These seven skin tag removal products do just that—make the whole process of removing skin tags easier and less stressful. Do you know of another product that has worked really well for you? Please help out other readers by sharing it with us in the comments if you do.
